Manager’s Picks
Some books in my life have left a deep impression and are some I think you might like to read. Here’s my current “favs” list.
Place of Healing by Joni Eareckson Tada
This moving book touched my heart and soul. At times, the book was hard to read, given Tada’s vulnerable honest cries to God. I could relate. The book highlighted her victories amid the down times. A good read that will encourage and inspire you.
When God Interrupts: Finding New Life Through Unwanted Change by Craig Barnes
Craig, a former Washington-area pastor, showed me how God moves through our lives and seeks to draw us closer to Him through unwanted change.
When People are Big God is Small by Ed Welch.
It was the name that first got me interested , so I read on. What a great study on the love God has for us and how He longs for us to love Him more than these. Be prepared for some soul searching.
Chasing Fireflies by Charles Martin.
One of my new favorite fiction writers. The character development in Martin’s stories are fascinating and make me feel like I really know them. Good summer read…actually anytime.
First the Dead by Tim Downs.
Love this bug-man book and the successive ones as well. Fun read about bugs and Hurricane Katrina.
